I love these guys. Maybe too much. Jane found me as a result of googling trees in San Diego. YES. I am not joking. This is pretty much the best way I can imagine being found. May all my future clients google trees and find me waiting!
You may remember these crafty creatives from our beer and banter in the trees engagement session earlier this spring. Well, after that awesome day, I knew these two stylish folks had amazing things in store for the wedding, and they most certainly didn’t disappoint. They spent ages creating an incredible event full of darling DIY delights.
Saby & Jane have a long and love-filled history. High school sweethearts, they could not have picked a more appropriate spot for their wedding—a charming old schoolhouse, with over a century of history. We were surrounded by chalkboards and charm and all sorts of vintage delights. But Saby & Jane have eclectic taste, so it was rad to see them bring together a variety of seemingly disparate elements and have it all add up to a wedding that was just so them. Modern bold invites, crafty DIY string art, vintage-romantic florals. Swoon.

Jane’s gorgeous tattoo reads, “Amour Absolu,” which translates to “absolute” or “pure” love. What a perfect sentiment for this dreamy, grand day. I was worried about Jane, knowing she was so eager for everything to be perfection. But on this amazing day, she let all those worries slip away and was simply filled with joy. Her giddy bridemaids all rallied around her and in a big reveal moment, I think there was a collective gasp when she turned around to face them, beaming.

Sabino’s boys were up to no good from the get-go. They had wild imaginations and even wilder behaviors. The ridiculousness was outta control! Behind those dapper bowties and charming plaid shirts were some fierce and freaky dudes. It was awesome.

The details. The awesome details. These two left no stone unturned. Look at this charming custom ring box! And did you check out the boys’ socks? No? Take a good look. And how about that True Love string art backdrop? Scrumptious, I know.

Franklin was an important part of this dreamy day. Here in the greenhouse, he was perfectly happy to just contentedly set up between these two lovebirds and grin that drooly doggie grin. Obviously I fell head over heels in love with him, and I might have fleetingly considered sneaking him away in my lens bag. But then we stumbled into a little orange grove. No biggie.

The reception was so, so, so pretty. The florals were oh-so romantic, the place settings were charmingly sweet, and the details were all so delicious. But all this loveliness set the scene for the real dream: some seriously tear-jerking, hilarious speeches, and a sweetly heartfelt song. And the silliness! So much gloriously ridiculous behavior, both in and out of the photobooth.

My favorite weddings always come down to letting loose. I love it when people let their hair down, and just have the very best time. It’s amazing when we stop worrying about being proper, and we just embrace being our silliest selves. This entire day was defined by intense amounts of fun and festivity. Does it get much better?
