Chris is my oldest friend from back in Montreal. We met when we were so little and shy that smiling was all we could manage for months before actually exchanging words. Come high school, we both were eager to get out of our hometowns and see the world. Now she lives in Nunavut (the arctic!) and I’m in San Diego. It’s nutty and wonderful and fulfilling to think how we followed our adventuring hearts. I get to see these two very, very rarely—Chris and Pat trekked pretty dang far to visit, so a photo shoot was in order, and I could not be more delighted. She’s high-energy and buoyant—he’s mellow with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. Together they are dynamic and playful, but also thoughtful and loving. Documenting people I love makes my heart swell. Here’s to making time to tell a story about love, not necessarily because it’s your wedding, or anniversary. Just because.
