Your eyeholes needed a little rock’n’roll desert magic today, no? Cat and Patrick brought together a wild community of revelers to celebrate after a multitude of pandemic postponements and all manner of hassles. They were very much put through the ringer and it was a real rollercoaster to arrive at this day. But here we are, finally, in this midcentury gem by John Lautner, in the desert, making so much out-of-the-ordinary, bucking-traditions magic!
This day was a burst of inspiration and fun and creative energy. Our nontraditional couple elected to don such fantastical outfits—a black jumpsuit for the bride and an electric-blue damask jacket. Even their florals took things to an otherworldly almost trippy place with flowers spray-painted in iridescent metallics and blue blues. Their perfect ceremony against the midcentury breezeblock backdrop had me all up in my feelings. And I loved their minimalist desert table decor—desert rocks for the win! Oh, and how much do you love those rock and roll favors (a rock and gold dice!). With an excellent team of creative visionaries and a wonderfully unique couple doing their thing their way and laughing all the way through, this day was all kinds of right.
