Kelsey & Sparky had a vision for a celebration that was laid-back and low-key on the shores of Mexico. It all came together at a private casa in Rosarito called Casa Playa Baja. It was a powerfully meaningful choice—Sparky’s best bud was in Mexico and couldn’t come back to the states. So they went to him instead. The day kicked off for this crew waking amidst a way laid back foggy marine layer. The gorgeous grand white villa was a bold contrast against the dusty sky that fades right into the soft grey ocean. Uncommonly, these two decided to get ready together and we absolutely adored it. They were so tender with each other and so full of giddy joy about the magic to come.
But I’ll let the misty seaside venue’s magic and the joyful playful energy speak for itself. I’ll just mention that I adored their unique touches in adding such charming custom DIY elements—handmade team bride and groom pins for all guests and teacup succulents, for example! And how dear is it to have your very own pastor dad preside over your ceremony? Being Santa Barbara natives, these two gave a nod to local tradition of a fiesta egg smash which they did right after the ceremony, covering everybody in confetti.
Then the tiny reception was a smash hit, from a traditional seaside Mexican Fiesta meal under twinkling lights, local live musicians and even setting off fireworks amidst the starry sky to wrap up. All these sweet memorable moments added up to a wealth of tender details and laughter and I am still so in love.
