Sam and Brian’s charming garden party of a wedding was just as sweet as pie! From the quaint rustic La Jolla houses in which they got ready (check out the awesome map on the wall! We perished from adoration) to her stunning backless dress to the colorful tile wall mural it was the kind of day that makes you feel like grinning until the wee hours of the night. Sam and Brian met at the Del Mar Race Track when she commented on how fond she was of his socks. Yes, you guessed it, those are the very same socks he wore for the wedding! She’s a stylish lawyer and he’s a surfing scientist and they are both gorgeous inside and out.
We loved their sweet mint and pink color palette and I think it was rad that they eschewed tradition and had a gent on the bridesmaids’ side. Their adorable ceremony had everyone armed for a collective toast right before the vows, which, as any wedding guest will attest to, was an absolute delight. In fact they had everyone arrive an hour early so cocktail hour could start before the ceremony. Genius. It was such a twinkly lit darling day followed by a wonderful dance party and so much tenderness. Here’s to light, love, and joy!

I’ve gotta say, this map wall is just the greatest gift I could ever stumble upon. I saw it and nearly fainted from delight. :)

These are the famed socks that brought these two together. I mean, does it get much better than that?

One of my all-time favorite moments. Three generations of women. When grandma, whose Alzheimers was quite advanced, was brought in, she looked confused and unhappy and uncomfortable. But this perfect moment of clarity happened. She looked up and recognized her granddaughter, recognized the significance of this day, and happy tears appeared. Joy.
