Working with creative adventurers is kind of my jam. And by kind of I mean REALLY, REALLY my jam. Jared and Joanna are photographers themselves, and their creative energy is catching. It was such a treat to see how interior designer Joanna and her business-smarts husband Jared set out to DIY this affair while keeping it glam and modern. This classically deserty San Diego wedding felt very balanced in terms of rustic charm and modernity. Their love of simple, natural details and all things handmade came together in a beautiful, happy day full of good energy. From Joanna’s Hollywood-glam beaded gown and classic red lips to the mix-and-match modern-classic bridesmaids dresses to the completely DIY bouquets. From Jared’s patterned bow tie to the groomsmen’s dapper suits to the folk-meets-funk playlist. Every effort was made to bring their joyous day to life in the tranquil setting of the Water Conservation Garden. Super sweet toasts brought tears to all eyes, guests enjoyed amazing noms from the ever-awesome MIHO Gastrotruck and three, yes three, homemade cakes among other homemade sweets. It was a wedding photographer’s dream! Then the night broke out into a raging dance party leading to a confetti-filled send off. Now that’s a wedding!
