It’s time for a fresh batch of adorable photos of you and your loved ones! Yep, that’s right, it’s mini sessions season! 2025 has been a truly wild year, so let’s take a little breather from the bonkersness and document you and your wild things. Whether you’re seeking new headshots for your business, an update of your family’s cuteness, content for your social media, or just some snuggly moments with your fave human (or pet)—I’m here for it! Minis keep things short and sweet in cases where you only need a smaller number of images, want something simple to use for your website or holiday cards, or just want a brief update to grace your walls and document your ongoing family story.
DEETS: Minis are ON SALE Y’ALL. Now only $400 and 20 minutes each, at one of the locations/dates below. There’s five minutes of leeway, beyond that, time cannot be extended as there may be another client waiting right after you. Sessions are available for a maximum of six people in one single group (if you have a larger extended family group, reach out to book a full adventure session at a location of your choosing on another date). Reminder that we keep our approach simple: instead of picking selects, ALL the images from the session are included for you, your gallery will include at least 40 images. Simple & easy! You’ll receive your gallery within two weeks, and you’ll be able to download directly from it.
LOCATION: This year is either at Marston House in Balboa Park, or in Oceanside at the Civic Center Plaza. You’ll receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions for the exact meeting spot based on your booked location (as well as some session prep advice) shortly after booking.
KEEP IN MIND: If you have the kind of kids (or hell, adults) that take quite a while to warm up, a mini may not be the best fit for them. Some folks just need more time to ease in and get comfortable. Particularly, some have an easier time of it if they’re in a familiar place, like home, or a local park. And some clients just have bigger visions for choosing their own locations, and having outfit changes. OPTION #1: HISTORIC MEETS RUSTIC MINIS AT MARSTON HOUSE IN BALBOA PARK
It’s been a few years so we’re so jazzed to return to the sweet parkside charms of Balboa Park! This season, we’re capturing the historic timeless magic of Marston House’s craftsman features and classic gardens and the surrounding rustic cuteness of Balboa Park. Marston’s red brick charm and sweet little english garden will make for a delightful backdrop! Features include:
- The grand old craftsman mansion as a backdrop
- Areas of lovely old brick, arched passages, and charming staircase nooks
- Sweet curated formal english-style gardens
- Old growth rustic trees and forest energy
There should be ample street parking in the park or on the street nearby (7th ave or Upas). That said, you never know if special events in the area may mean that parking further south on Balboa Dr. is necessary. Allow yourself some extra time to arrive and seek out parking just in case! Please keep in mind that occasionally a private event booked at this site could mean none of the above locations are guaranteed, or in some cases other people may be hanging out or shooting photos there at the same time. Due to unforeseen events, it’s possible a mild location change to an alternative site in the park could be necessary. In the case of serious inclement weather, events may be delayed by a week or two.

OPTION #2: URBAN AND COLORFUL AT OCEANSIDE CIVIC CENTER PLAZA
This year we’re venturing north for our North County crews. Oceanside is such a laid-back cute city, and we love the bold and bright vibes offered at the Civic Center, especially with the nod to deco architectural details with modern chic style. From its glam fountains and white arches that evoke Santorini to the grand tiled staircases, this is a fun spot! Features include:
- Modern large fountains in the open plaza, with a view of palms along Coast Hwy
- Classic deco-inspired architectural details
- Grand colorful tiled walls and staircases
- White adobe style walls, hallways, and arches with blue pops, very greek energy
There should be ample metered street parking in the surrounding neighborhood or there is a garage attached to the buildings right onsite for the easiest access. Allow yourself a little extra time to arrive and secure parking! Please keep in mind that using public spaces means that none of the above locations are guaranteed—in some cases other people may be hanging out or shooting photos there at the same time, so we must remain adaptable. In the case of serious inclement weather, events may be delayed by a week or two.
