So, the magic of Tulum doesn’t seem to be much of a secret anymore, but have you actually seen it with your very own eyes? If not, how about a slice? First off, the formalities: Tulum’s a teeny adorable town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. You’ve been hearing for a while about adventurers getting away to its charmingly low-key beaches and well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city. From the large historic El Castillo, perched on a rocky cliff, to the eclectic and colorful seaside chintzy town goodies where you can grab a beer, listen to laid-back tunes, and sit steps from the white sand beaches and turquoise sea.
Some of Tulum’s biggest charms are once you get away from the center of town. Tulum has some regulation about resorts, which means all of the hotels and buildings around the town are small-scale. No giant resorts, just little boutique hotels and inns the keep this place feeling like a little jungle oasis. You may remember it from the gorgeous wedding we captured here at NEST. But read on if you wanted just a little more of this town to chew on.
