On a gorgeous day in San Diego’s Liberty Station, Charlotte and Matthew brought classic and timeless glamour to Brick’s hip industrial warehouse venue. I’ve shot many weddings here over the years, and I must say, this one dazzled in such a unique way. From their hanging garden wonderland over their ceremony-in-the-round, to the quirky colorful wreath bouquets, this sweet couple didn’t miss an opulent detail.
Working with Char and Matt was such a treat. They work in wine and yoga (so like, they’re amaze) and are both so creative and clear in their unique vision. They wanted their wedding reception to feel upscale and yet relaxed and informal and so they envisioned a room full of lounge areas—honestly, the most we’ve ever seen at a wedding! In fact, they had more lounges than tables, and that was by design!
We couldn’t get enough of the lavish jewel tone velvet-filled nooks with gorgeous bursts of bright flowers. Charlotte was a knock-out in her classical Sarah Seven gown with a surprise sassy front cut out, and Matthew charmed in his Ralph Lauren patterns and paisley complete with pocket watch. They combined a sense of history with chic modern fun and it could not have made for a more compelling visual feast.
These two sweet humans said their “I do’s” in a lovely, intimate ceremony-in-the-round (complete with their sweet ol’ dog Bleu!) where all their favorite people could surround them with love and adoration. From the feels-filled first look in the warehouse to the rad signage of the public market to their garden wanders to shaking their tail feathers on the dance floor. This joy-filled community of revelers brought an amazing energy to the inspired space, concocted by an incredible creative team. We are still dazzled by this magical day, the wild dance moves, and these two incredible humans.
