I love a good brand session, but spark sessions are closest to my heart. Working with fellow artists and artisans to capture both their work and their souls in portrait form just hits me right. Helping makers tell the story of who they are is incredibly inspiring to me. But especially as a fellow potter!
We shot this one at my home and studio which was the shortest walk to work ever. I have great natural lighting here so she could work right in my own studio on the wheel, and I must say it was a treat! We spent half the session focusing on headshots and candid action on the wheel, and half on classic product photography 9with my own special twist).
