It’s time to drop some eclectic magic on you. The kind where southern warmth meets historic urban creativity. The kind where gold animals wear jaunty party hats. The kind where a massive historic windowed warehouse loft is transformed into a tender celebration space (I barely handled how awesome it was). The kind where these two incredibly kind, silly, quirky, academic, and adorable souls officially kick off their already united life together.
Bringing me over to the other side of the country to help them tell their story was a significantly special treat (full of eating cheesy grits on the daily, yeah!), so that I could immerse myself in the world they grew in, the environment that produced these truly lovely humans. These amazing folks give me the warm fuzzies, their community was absolutely delightful and utterly welcoming, and their gorgeous energy and love inspire me so. Cheers to these adventurers!
We started the day with these two dreamies getting ready at the magical venue that is The Lofts at Union Square. With archways and historic nooks and crannies, large beams, concrete, and faceted windows for days—it was the perfect backdrop for these explorers.
Their first look and portraits gave me the warmest warm fuzzies. I adore doing first looks, not just because they relax your timeline immensely, but because watching two people share a special private moment like this just makes me weak in the knees. Plus they’re so dang silly and I just want to scoop them up and keep them in my pocket forever.
This ceremony backdrop made of scrolls from a player piano though. <3 <3 <3 Not to mention all the little jaunty gold animals in party hats everywhere!
I loved that they had a multi-layer wedding party: their immediate family in one group and then their crew of besties. PERF.
Obsessed with this loft space and these warehouse windows.
So, it was a rainy day, with pockets of dry, and it was alllll good. I loved that the drops added a smidge of twinkly goodness to this day, and it was great that the warehouse was enormous and plentiful with photo ops inside so that we could simply stay in when the rains came.
These vows made my heart go pitter-patter.
As you can see, the rain cleared out enough for us to go have a warehouse adventure outside. SO good! These silly maniacs are the bees’ knees. I love people that are just SO excited on their wedding day, who just bring silly energy in heaps.
Not only was their first dance magical, but it was the kind of tenderness that left you unable to take your eyes off them for even a second. And then… the party dropped! Could not have had more fun with these guys. So much love and joy in my heart thanks to these two and their delightful community.
